Public Homes

The very special G+2+rooftop building "Public Homes", is purposed to be an Air BnB type with up to 16 self contained and spacious bedrooms and a penthouse that takes some space on G+1 and G+2. The design aims to respond to the name of the project, it intends to be a public home. The central core, has a pool on ground floor and other common spaces on other floors face the main road, this makes the bedrooms to be on the periphery benefiting from views and private balconies. The central space of the pool is an atrium that brings ambient light to that space and circulation space and common spaces. One goes to the common spaces for socialization and retreats back to bedrooms and can use the private balcony on each of the rooms, thus striking a good balance between the public and private realms, making it a real home, but of course a public one. The materials used, are stones, wood, dark colours dominating on the outside while bright colours dominating on the inside. The box, the pitches and the arches create a good contrast making it a timeless type of architecture.
